Okay, I'm starting this journal on June 18th, 2025. I hope to keep up with my progress with semi-regularity. I'm very keen on making some great movies in the coming years. I've made many movies for startups in the past, and even a whole YouTube series that required sort of a showrunner role in order to ship successfully. For the last project I worked on, I published about 250 videos of varying production quality. Some of them I was really proud of and some were... good experiments. The plan is to apply these skills to deep stories that resonate with my lived experience. I'm seeing some truth that needs mythological heft to make sense. I feel called to contribute to society in this way! Maybe I will fall flat on my face... I will certainly fall flat on my face. But I will get up and keep trucking until I can't anymore. **So here's the plan:** 1. Make the first short film (titled **Appricot**) in this new body of work before the end of this summer. Submit it to film festivals. 1. 💛 IN PROGRESS 2. Script written and pre-production for Appricot has begun. 3. Premiere: end of 2025 2. Make a longer short film (titled **COMPANION**) by the end of the year. Submit it to film festivals for next year. 1. 💛 IN PROGRESS 2. Script almost finished. Much more technical project, so pre production hasn't started, but some experiments are under way. 3. Premiere: start of 2026 3. Make an EVEN longer short film 1. ❤️ NOT STARTED 2. Premiere: mid 2026 4. Make the first feature film: Touch the Universe 1. Script is started, but nothing else started 2. ❤️ NOT STARTED 3. Premiere: End of 2026 or Start of 2027 Schedule of film festivals: [[Filmfest Big Five 2025]] [[Filmfest Expanded List 2026]] 18-June-2025 * Coordinating with a few artists to see if they want to contribute to my first short. I am deciding between shooting Appricot or COMPANION. I think the first would be good practice for a tight shot drama, and the latter would be sort of festival bait. It's true to heart and about hardcore suicidal depression, I feel the edgy material might resonate better with a certain enjoyer of the arts. I don't know if applying naively makes sense or if there's some beat I need to work. I know for crypto if you don't work the beat, you're basically a scrub. There are VERY few outsiders in a given industries that break through the front door. This is something I am keenly aware of.
